Famitsu Reviews Wii Games
Famitsu Reviews Wii Games - All the launch titles...and more!
By Adam Riley
With Nintendo's Wii already out in the US, the next release comes in Japan at the beginning of December. Famitsu got its hands on the launch games early for review and the results are now in, plus a few other games like the GC version of Zelda and Final Fantasy VI on the GBA.
Zelda The Twilight Princess (Wii, Nintendo): 9 / 10 / 9 / 10 - (38/40)
Zelda The Twilight Princess (GC, Nintendo): 10 / 10 / 9 / 9 - (38/40)
Odoru Made in Wario (Wii, Nintendo): 8 / 9 / 8 / 9 - (34/40)
Red Steel (Wii, Ubisoft): 8 / 9 / 9 / 8 - (34/40)
SD Gundam: Scud Hammers (Wii, Bandai Namco): 8 / 8 / 9 / 8 - (33/40)
Elebits (Wii, Konami): 8 / 8 / 8 / 8 - (32/40)
Caduceus Z: 2-tsu no Chou Shittou (Wii, Atlus): 8 / 9 / 8 / 7 - (32/40)
Final Fantasy VI Advance (GBA, Square Enix): 8 / 8 / 7 / 8 - (31/40)
Swing Golf Pangya (Wii, Tecmo): 8 / 7 / 7 / 7 - (29/40)
Nippon Curling Kyoukai Kounin: Minna no Curling DS (NDS, Rocket Company): 7 / 8 / 6 / 8 - (29/40)
Necro-Nesia (Wii, Spike): 8 / 7 / 6 / 7 - (28/40)
Crayon Shin-Chan: Saikyou Kazoku Kasukabe King Wii (Wii, Banpresto): 7 / 8 / 7 / 6 - (28/40)
Tank Beat (NDS, Milestone): 7 / 7 / 7 / 7 - (28/40)
Zoids Battle Colosseum (NDS, Takara Tomy): 7 / 6 / 6 / 8 - (27/40)
Ennichi no Tatsujin (Wii, Bandai Namco): 7 / 7 / 7 / 6 - (27/40)
Futari wa PreCure: Splash Star Panpaka Game de Zekkouchou! (NDS, Bandai Namco): 6 / 5 / 7 / 8 - (26/40)
Tamagotchi no Pika Pika Daitouryou (Wii, Bandai Namco): 7 / 7 / 7 / 5 - (26/40)
Kororinpa (Wii, Hudson): 6 / 6 / 6 / 6 - (24/40)
Wing Island (Wii, Hudson): 5 / 6 / 6 / 5 - (22/40)
Tokyo Friend Pack II DS (NDS, Rocket Company): 6 / 6 / 4 / 6 - (22/40)
Clearly the big winners are Zelda, Wario, Red Steel, Trauma Centre, Gundam and Elebits. What IS interesting, though, is how there is no difference between the Wii and GC Zelda scores, as well as the fact that the game only scored 38/40 when Wind Waker on the GameCube managed 40/40! According to Famitsu, the game is too hard in places...however, without the full review translation it is hard to see if that is the only real negative point.
Final Fantasy VI Advance has a good showing, as does Rocket Company's new Curling (!) DS title and Pangya Golf on Wii. Everything else does not fare anywhere near as good.
But, as ever, your opinion is valued, so share your thoughts with us on the above scores in the forum below.
